About the Author

Merlin O. Baker is a graduate of Brigham Young University. After graduation he served in the Counter Intelligence Corp of the United States Army. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Chicago Law School and was elected to the Editorial Board of the University of Chicago Law Review.

He practiced law with the law firms of Sidley & Austin in Chicago, Illinois and Ray, Quinney & Nebeker in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served as Chairman of the Board of Visitors of Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School.



He served as mission president of the Canada-Halifax Mission. He and his wife, Marian, are the parents of seven children. They are currently serving as missionaries in the LDS Family Services Addiction Recovery Program and are the mission coordinators for the Salt Lake District. He is also the author of the book, Charity - Key to Gospel Motivation.
